from their homes in the Dan Region in favor of Arab families "to be re-settled". These apartments were seized in the name of the "Palestinian law" (or more accurately, the Palestinian terror), which enabled a "more equitable distribution" of the assets held by the (former Israeli) public. In this way, many hundreds of apartments, populated by the remaining citizens of the State of Israel, were "robbed" all across the Dan Region. The relations with their Israeli neighbors were at best cold, however in any quarrel or confrontation with the Palestinian families who lived in the heart of the Israeli buildings, the Palestinian police always came to their aid and in the name of "the law" assaulted those who did not yield to the Palestinian families. In the poster which was circulated, the IFF underground demanded all Palestinian families who had entered Israeli assets to leave them within a week. The Arab settler families were families of those "close" to the new Palestinian rule. After the Palestinian reign and the Palestinian families understandably ignored the poster, one morning a number of Palestinian families found the severed head of a pig lying at their doorstep with the blood of the pig smeared all over the threshold to their apartments. That very same day the Palestinian families left their new residences in fright and returned to the refugee camps from whence they came. The act was reported at the beginning of all the news broadcasts, with the purpose of illustrating the aggression of the Jewish underground. However, overseas, the Israeli position was actually presented favorably, since after all, it was the dispossession of citizens from their property, and a blatant infringement of their basic civil rights. The head of the opposition, Dan Bohen, severely criticized the conflict-mongering Israelis. "Do they want a religious war? All the Islamic countries against Jewry? That they throw pig heads at Arab homes? The consequence of the shortsightedness of the extreme right underground IFF, which is comprised of war criminals, is that there shall be no salvation for all of the Jews in this land. Only a sane policy will restore the status quo and the joint good life to this country." The Minister for Jewish Affairs, Yosef Harig, expressed his shock from the act. "When one knows the aversion that the Jews and Muslims harbor towards the animal called a pig, this act causes disgust and even horror. This is an intolerable prejudice against the feelings of the Palestinian and Jewish nations alike. I will demand that the Minister of the Interior take urgent care in order to resolve the problem!" Whereas the Minister of the Interior, Ahmed Kivi, nervously twisted his mustache and said at a special press conference: "A barbaric, criminal and unforgivable act like this, shall not go without a response. We shall find the guilty parties, and prosecute them to the full extent of the law." A week after the event, Eli returned to his apartment, which had been abandoned, next to Nili. That's all folks |
